Patinoa almirajo (4x4x10 inch tree pot)

Common Name: almirajo.  Family: Malvaceae (subfamily: Bombacoideae). Rare.  Fruits are yellow and sweet and reported to be similar to some Pouteria species in flavor. Medium  tree native to the Choco region of Colombia.  New growth is purplish red and matures to medium to dark green.  Young plants grow fairly fast.  Full sun to light shade in humid tropics; some shade may be required in areas with low humidity or high temperatures.  Slightly acidic soil with good drainage.  I don't expect this species to tolerate cool temperatures.  Outdoors in Zone 11 or higher.  Plants are typically 3 to 4 ft. tall when shipped.

We will start shipping this species in July, 2018.

Certified to ship to all 50 US states.
