Roots are used in some native religious ceremonies. Causes violent vomiting. Oranmental fruits look similar to orange peppers. Very small pale yellowish flowers. Grows well in a container. Small to medium shrub with glossy deep green leaves. Fairly easy to grow in the tropics. Full sun. Slightly acidic soil high in organic matter. Keep moist. Outdoors in Zones 10B and higher.
