Family: Euphorbiaceae. Common Name: Katook or Katuk. Native to tropical Southeast Asia. Leaves and very young shoots are eaten cooked. Delicious nutty flavor. I find that eating raw leaves irritates my throat. Growth is fast in hot weather. Plants can develop into large shrubs if not pruned. Full sun is best. Any soil. Fertilize with a general purpose garden fertilizer for most rapid growth.
