Obtained as Fargesia yunnanensis. However, this plant has small auricles and oral setae; so apparently mislabeled. It seems to be vigorous. Mountain bamboo with medium green culms reaching about 25 ft. long and 1.5 inches in diameter. Forms dense clumps. All members of this genus are clumping and non-invasive. Reported to tolerate some cold. I would guess that it is hardy to about Zone 7 or Zone 8. There is no opportunity to test cold tolerance in Hawaii. Most mountain bamboos like some afternoon shade in hot areas. This is a new generation. I can not guaranty the species at this point. I have only 3 clones which appear to be identical at this point. 5.5 inch square pots are ready to move to 10 or 12 inch pots when we ship. Estimated to begin shipping in August.
