Eugenia uniflora 5.5 inch Pot

Common Names: Pintanga, Suriname Cherry. Tropical/subtropical shrub or small tree native to South America. Now widely cultivated in the tropics. Sometimes trimmed and used as a hedge. Fruiting occurs several times per year. When conditions are right it can fruit almost continuously. If growing in a container prune to maintain a smaller size. Since blooms are on new growth light to moderate pruning does not usually affect fruiting. Full Sun. Slightly acidic soil with good drainage. Fertilize several times per year with a general purpose fertilizer with micro-nutrients. Plants respond well to seaweed extract. Hardy to 27 or 28 F. Brief light frost do not damage this plant. Outdoors in Zones 10 and 11 or in a container.
