Aglaia odorata (Rice Flower) 5.5 inch square pot

Family: Meliaceae. Common Names: Rice Flower. Medium shrub native to southeast Asia. Cultivated for tiny fragrant pale yellow flowers. Flowers are used to scent some tea blends. Prefers full sun to light shade. Performs well in warm humid growing conditions. Well drained slightly acidic soil high in organic matter. Fertilize several times per year. Growth rate is slow to moderate but plants bloom in 2 or 3 years. Outdoors in Zones 10 to 11. Grows well in containers. I'm starting a new batch of cuttings in late April 2010.
